This week on The Mismatched Podcast, we’re covering a little bit of everything!
We kick things off with Tom… and, of course, golf, golf, and more golf. He’s been living his best retired life on the course, but Danna discovered that when Tom’s golfing, she and the boys are living their best lives too!
 
Then we chat about family cruises, kids and cell phones, funny dog stories, meeting our friends’ parents (and the hilarious stories they always seem to tell), and getting everything ready for the All-American Junior Show.

Camp, Costco & Crime-Drama Motels

This week Danna and Kristin chat about sleep-away camp. Danna’s kids have never attended, while Kristin’s four kids have spent years heading off to camp each summer. They discuss why camp becomes such an important part of growing up and the memories that last a lifetime.
Kristin is also learning how to live on the road, including navigating hotel laundry rooms. This sparks a discussion about public laundry etiquette and whether it’s ever acceptable to move someone else’s clothes.
Dinner with Farm Bureau friends where somehow the conversation turned to Bill’s side dishes. Bill has opinions when it comes to food, especially side dishes, he needs options and let’s just say the topic generated plenty of laughs.
The conversation then shifts to Napa. While most people visit wine country for wine tasting, Bill and Kristin apparently go for Costco.
And finally, Kristin shares a motel experience that felt like it belonged in a television crime drama. You know the kind of motel where you expect the police to be knocking on doors looking for suspects? That was the vibe and it made for a memorable stop on the trip.

California Dreaming

This week, Kristin is reporting live from California while Danna is back home holding down the fort. Between summer camps, kids coming and going, and calendars that somehow fill themselves up overnight, the ladies discuss the organized chaos that is summer break.
Kristin shares a few observations from her travels in California, including what she’s learning about agriculture in wine country and some of the challenges currently facing the grape industry. It turns out there’s a lot more to a bottle of wine than just grapes and a cork!
Meanwhile, Danna is keeping things running at home and proving that someone has to stay behind and make sure the wheels don’t completely fall off while friends are off “researching” agriculture.
The big question of the episode: Can listeners figure out where in California Kristin is? She drops a few clues along the way, so put on your detective hat and see if you can pinpoint her location.

We talked all things Campbell’s graduation party, the people, the fun, and even a little “frosting and fire” along the way. 
Special guest Angelina made an appearance too! We loved hearing about her Egyptian heritage, family traditions, favorite foods, and all the things that make America such a special place where different cultures and stories can be shared and celebrated together.
Between graduation season, friendships, family, and reflecting on all the opportunities we’ve been given, this episode left us feeling very thankful and very blessed to call America home. ❤️🇺🇸

Food and Faith
